Join the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction in creating innovative multimedia modules to support the dissemination of New Common Core and Essential Standards curriculum.
Partnered with North Carolina’s Department of Public Instruction (DPI) professional development consultants, you will join local North Carolina DPI content specialists and Kenan Fellows from across the state to help develop blended teacher training supporting effective delivery of the new Common Core and Essential Standards.
You will be tasked with supporting NCDPI’s intensive, blended professional development initiative focused on the transition from the current Standard Course of Study to the new Common Core and Essential Standards. This opportunity puts you on the cutting edge of North Carolina’s planned implementation of these new standards for all content areas during the 2012-2013 school year.
Your project may include designing teacher resources aligned with available curriculum and the Teacher Evaluation Instrument or creating resources that use embedded technology to engage students. You may also utilize communication tools, including online modules and face-to-face modeling, to deliver virtual training.
Potential DPI Kenan Fellows should be working with the Common Core and Essential standards, be comfortable with the Teacher Evaluation tool, and use technology as a component of their instruction. As a Kenan DPI Fellow, you will expand your knowledge of data literacy and be expected to use data to inform and improve instruction in the classroom.
