Honestly, the highlight of my week at NCCAT was without doubt the rafting trip. It came at such a great time! Planning it for mid-week when everyone was needing a change of scenery and to get out of the building was excellent. I really enjoyed the way the trip was an all-day affair, complete with expert discussion about the environment. Not rushing right down the river but stopping for lunch, “Jumping-Off Rock” and to hear Peter explain what makes the river so unique extended the pleasure of the trip! The rain and thunder added another layer of sensory richness to our day as did the easy going personality of our guide Tanner. We had to trust he knew what he was talking about when he said “Lightening never strikes the river.” Add all the laughing we did as our group went down the river to no one losing a tooth to a paddle or bouncing out of the boat and you get a day that was just about as perfect as possible.
Your group looked like they had so much fun! I grew up going rafting a lot, so it was awesome to get to go with a community of people that are so passionate about education. 🙂
Rafting is always a great time. I hate that missed out on it but am thrilled you got a thrill out of your week at NCCAT.

Rafting was a really good experience. My friends were amazed that I even attempted to go rafting…yet manage to stay “inside” the raft. My team had an amazing time…even though we lost someone to the waterfall. Tons of fun!
