While I continue to plan for my students this year, I am constantly reflecting on my summer externship. I learned some very specific skills related to the industry I was researching. However, I refined a variety of others that will impact my students. Planning a proper lesson , as tedious as it may be, is worth the time and effort when you consider the value of the outcome for the students. My organization and thought processes related to the weekly lesson plan is different. And even if I am making a “mental” plan, the considerations are deeper and much more productive. Our sessions on planning and data have helped me tremendously. My students will see the Kenan impact reflected in a more organized and focused teacher.
Excellent post. The best laid plans are not laid to rest they are executed.
