Collaboration with Fellows and Mentors

Collaboration is a key skill in life and is something that as an educator I try to instill in all of my students. Throughout my career as an educator and especially during my Kenan Fellowship I have learned that it is extremely important to be able to communicate and collaborate with others in order to be successful. Working towards one goal on the Salmonella/Food Safety project with 9 fellows and 5 mentors has required a lot of synergy. Throughout the fellowship there have been times that without the partnerships with our 4H mentors and our University mentors we would not have been able to accomplish what we have as a team. They have taught, challenged, encouraged, and lead us throughout our fellowship and without them I wouldn’t have grown in the ways that I have. I am grateful for the partnerships that my Kenan Fellowship has provided me with and look forward to continuing to build these relationships in the future.
