This year, I came back to classroom more motivated and more excited than any other year. I came back to classroom really dedicated to having my students understand what agriculture means to our county, and our state, and the amazing careers available to them in this beautiful area. This changed my outlook of my role of the educator.
Another thing that has changed my outlook as educator, is the connections that can be made in teaching. I have made more connections through this program in 6 months than all of 11 years teaching. I got to spend so much time with like-minded people who, like me, believe that all children can learn, and all children can be successful in STEM. People, who like me, believe in student-centered classroom where all students can be actively engaged. People who like me, LOVE to share their passion for STEM and STEM related opportunities in NC. And I love that!
