Describe something that you’ve learned as a result of your fellowship that will change how you teach this year.

  • How did this experience change your outlook as an educator?

This experience was amazing.  The collaboration between fellows is the best platform I have ever seen.  I learned so much from listening to other teachers.  No matter what you teach great ideas are valuable.  I have adapted so many things this year into my classroom that I learned from other teachers in the Kenan Program.

  • Did it open you up to new possibilities? Please list some of those possibilities.

I have expanded my teaching into a more exercise science platform utilizing tools that I learned this summer from traditional science teachers.

  • What will you do differently as an educator?

I think that approaching my course with open eyes and working with other teachers in various curriculums will be key.

  • Did it affirm any ideals that you may have already had? If so, how so?
I really had no idea what I was getting into when I applied.  It looked like an exciting adventure and a way to improve my teaching methods. Well, my expectations were met and exceeded.
