KFP Summer Institute Reflection

I loved meeting inspired and energized educators! The best part of the week was developing a a relationship of trust and respect with my peer-review gals, interacting with Kenan Faculty, and dinner desserts (of course).

Things I would like to integrate into my classroom include a GooseChase scavenger hunt. I traditionally do a Photography Project at the end of the semester in AP Physics and I feel like integrating GooseChase could make it more engaging and collaborative.

Another thing I would like to integrate into my classroom was increased SEL techniques. Allowing my students the opportunity build those relationships with me and their peers will reduce their stress levels and increase their overall success directly or indirectly.

Lastly, my goal is to write some Grants to improve the overall experience of my students and increase the Maker-Space mentality in my classroom not only as a reward but to set high standards and expectations.

This Professional Development was amazing! I was exhausted mentally every day! I feel more confident in myself as a teacher and understanding my students. Thank you for the branding session as this forced me to think about the impact I wish to have on my students everyday. Passionately illuminating wonder.
