The Journal of Interdisciplinary Teacher Leadership (JoITL), an online peer-reviewed publication of the Kenan Fellows Program for Teacher Leadership at NC State University, is seeking submissions focused on issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in K-12 education.
Current social movements have highlighted the need for primary and secondary education to address systemic barriers and challenges affecting students from underrepresented and underserved communities.
We are interested in original research, case studies, literature reviews, etc. that engage with critical theories and perspectives on issues of race, ethnicity, gender identity, disability, etc. JoITL is dedicated to interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to K-12 education scholarship and submitted work can cover a wide variety of research areas including but not limited to teaching and learning, teacher leadership, STEM education, special education, and digital education.
Submission topics under the framework of DEI could include:
Culturally Responsive Teaching
Alternative assessment practices
COVID-19 Pandemic impacts
Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission portal.
JoITL accepts applications on a rolling basis, but to be considered for publication in the 2022 issue please submit manuscripts by August 31.
Submissions will undergo peer review prior to final decision.
