David Kaiser

David Kaiser is the Senior Director of Policy, Advocacy & Innovation at the North Carolina Rural Center, which works to improve the quality of life for the state’s rural people and places. Kaiser was formerly the Deputy Director for the Office of Science, Technology & Innovation in the N.C. Department of Commerce.

Previously, he was a research economist at RTI International and was at the Kauffman Foundation. He has served as an evaluator for UNC-Chapel Hill’s eMBA Soft Launch Program and a Phase II panel reviewer for the National Science Foundation. He is also on the Board of Directors for FIRST North Carolina. Trained as an economist, Kaiser has a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in economics from Nebraska Wesleyan University and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
