Mark Sorrells, Ed.D. is Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Services for Fayetteville Technical Community College. His responsibilities at the College include coordinating over 86 programs of study, continuing education, as well as student services and academic supports available to the more than 34,000 students. Prior to coming to FTCC, Mark was the Senior Vice President at the Golden LEAF Foundation (GLF). In addition to serving as the Chief Operating Officer, he led statewide workforce programs of the GLF Board of Directors including the Essential Skills in Advanced Manufacturing, Bio-Manufacturing Workforce Training Initiative, the Aerospace Manufacturing Training Program, the NC Digital Learning Technology Initiative, and STEM Initiative. Previous employment included working as the executive director for a statewide non-profit and teaching in the NC Community College System.
Mark earned his undergraduate and Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of Tennessee and completed his Doctorate in Education at East Carolina University. He is a 1999 – 2001 William C. Friday Fellow in the Wildacres Leadership Initiative and completed non-profit and philanthropic leadership programs at Stanford University.
