Since the implementation of the wearable device project, all students have completed the project. It was quite the learning experience for many of them. Students were challenged with learning how to program in C+/C++ programming language, applying knowledge of electrical circuits, in addition to utilizing critical thinking and problem solving skills. This project was an excellent opportunity for students to grow intellectually and skillfully.

Not only did students grow, but I grew professionally. This opporutniy was unique in that I was afforded the chance to develop a project that incorporates current industry-used technology in a professional environment outside of school. All too many times teachers become “stuck” in schools and lose the chances to get outside and see what current developments have occurred in the fields they teach about.

The product developed as a result of my experience has been great. I plan on continuing making improvements and implementing it in the classroom as well as sharing it with industry and fellow teachers.
