About my Fellowship

Who am I?

Hello! My name is Kelly Wall and I teach 8th grade Science at West Millbrook Middle School in North Raleigh. I grew up in Island Heights, New Jersey (which can be considered “The Jersey Shore”). I attended college at the University of South Carolina and I am very proud to be a Gamecock! In my spare time, I enjoy riding my horse Casey, running marathons, and participating in Crossfit!

Why Kenan Fellows?

Last summer, I came to visit a colleague, from West Millbrook Middle School, at the Museum of Natural Science while she was working on her Kenan Fellowship research. I was able to enjoy the museum environment and live a day in the life of a Kenan Fellow, and I was truly inspired. After that day, I decided that I wanted to be a Kenan Fellow in the class of 2015-2016. After a long interview process (and some nail biting), I found out that I was going to be a Kenen Fellow on Aprin 16th, 2015. I am passionate about teaching students science by doing science, and Kenan Fellows is going to be the institution that allows me to being new and authentic curriculum to my students.

So here we are!
