Part of the deal of being a CMS Kenan Fellow was that each of us had to create a PBL for a specific grade level.  All of the final PBL’s  will then in turn be combined together and published for the county.  I have chosen to create a 5th grade Force and Motion PBL entitled, “Theme Park Thrills.”  Knowing the importance of 21st century skills, this PBL encompasses the 4 C’s (creativity, collaboration, communication and critical thinking) where teams are challenged to create models of their theme park rides that demonstration each of Newton’s Laws of Motion.  I plan to roll this project out with my students in the beginning of February.  I’ll be sure to blog about the results of this project.
