During my internship I was able to make several new connections surrounding the NASCAR industry. Being lucky enough to teach my unique curriculum this has been very beneficial. To start with, my Ten80 competition team recently participated in the Charlotte Motor Speedway STEMEXPO as presenters. They were also given the chance to walk around and learn from other vendors at the event. Around 1,000 students attended the event and my students did an exceptional job speaking with students who came to our booth.
For my Kenan project I am planning on using the Xfinity garage for a Ten80 sanctioned event. This will not only benefit my students but also other students in the region who attend the event.
Lastly, I was even offered a job at my internship over the summer. It was a great feeling to know the work and partnership I created from my internship was appreciated.
