Well, I’ve had more than a few “aha” moments during this externship. I’ve learned a great deal about technology….and learned that I still have a great deal to learn about how to use it effectively in my professional capacity. I’ve learned a lot about how working relationships function in different contexts…and learned that I still have a little to learn about how to maneuver within those relationships to ensure that everyone involved feels secure and is able to focus on the work that needs to be done. Finally, I’ve learned that sometimes it’s important to be self-promoting in order to spread the word for the greater good, like showcasing the great work of the Kenan Fellows program….and I learned that I still need to work on bringing that type of attention to myself, because for the most part, I like to stay out of the spotlight, even when I’ve done something worthy of publicity. So, the greatest “aha” moment I’ve had during my externship is “ahem,” I still have a lot to learn.
