Hello world!

As our Cullowhee week approaches, I am getting more and more excited to meet with my team again. We met in June and started our work together on a productive, encouraging note.  We are driven individuals who complement each other in our work and communication styles.  We have a common vision and goal to positively impact the math instruction in our state for K-2 teachers.  We hope to support K-2 teachers in their instruction in order to build a foundation in number sense and math reasoning with our young students.

Next week, the members of my team will come to my district to take part in our Orange County Schools PD on the Assessing Math Concepts (AMC) system.  It is an interesting opportunity to be able to host my project Fellows at our county PD work.   I am thrilled for them to see the work we have been doing in Orange County and this week will give us a common language and starting point in which to base our Kenan project work.  To have our Cullowhee week come right after this week of math PD is extremely lucky.  We will take our insight gained and differing perspectives to build a template for PD that can be used across the state.
