I hope everyone is finishing the school year with some sanity left. My kids are getting a bit rowdy now! Has anyone started their Fellowship work yet? I’m not starting until June 17 but I’m very excited! Meanwhile, I’m having a blast playing around with the new tablet!
Marci,
What all have you found you like doing on the tablet? Since they’re so new, we’re as excited to see how the Fellows are using them as we are to show off some of the things we have found!
I’ve spent most of my time setting it up, customizing my screens, etc. I have not used Windows 8 before so that alone took quite a bit of time. I do like the touch screen and slide capabilities. I took it to the beach over Memorial Day weekend and was able to read with it on the beach like a Kindle. I do want a flip open cover for mine though. I don’t always want to use the keyboard so I’m looking on Amazon for one that will just hold the tablet. It takes pretty good pictures too. I’m looking forward to using it with the fellowship. See you at NCCAT!
We’ve been using the Moko flip cover here in the office: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009YG9LYC/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It adds a little bulk to the laptop, but it keeps all the buttons and ports open and accessible, which is really nice. The biggest downside I’ve found is that you have to take the tablet back out to get it into the charging dock, but USB charging still works just fine.
Unfortunately I won’t be joining the team in person at NCCAT, but you guys will have the always-wonderful Lisa, Craig, and Amneris on hand for a wonderful week. Enjoy!
I got a Rocket fish tablet cover for my birthday. It’s generic but the tablet does fit in there pretty snug and all the ports and buttons are open. I also have to take it out to charge but it’s a cool purple color so I like it. I do think the Amazon one is a little bit cheaper but the husband didn’t have time for shipping!
