About My Fellowship

My Kenan Fellowship is called “Fueling the Future of Renewable Energy” and is located at NC State’s FREEDM Systems Center. The acronym, FREEDM, stands for Future Renewable Electric Energy Delivery and Management. They are focused on innovating our energy grid to make it smarter, more efficient, and easier to implement green energy sources.

My roll at the FREEDM Systems Center is to observe their various projects and work to develop curricula that reflects their work in the electrical engineering field. I am also working with my mentor, Dr. Jeffrey, to develop “The Engineering Guides of North Carolina,” which is a kit of engineering lessons, lesson plans, and materials that will be distributed to each county in the state.
