The Clean and Green fellowship is an opportunity to work in a dynamic community impact organization in Fayetteville, Sustainable Sandhills. Sustainable Sandhills works to improve the environment in communities affected by BRAC (Base Realignment and Closure) of Fort Bragg. These areas include Cumberland, Moore, Harnett, and Hoke Counties. Although Sustainable Sandhills work in a variety of areas, the primary areas of focus are: air quality, Green Schools, Green Business, and electronics recycling. In addition to being able to experience working in a community action organization, this fellowship provides the opportunity to develop innovative curriculum in sustainable education and an amazing Farm to School program that takes children from the Boys and Girls Club of Cumberland County to different farms throughout Cumberland County.
