I am with ASSIST and my fellowship is wearable devices. My fellowship is all about exploring nano technology and how cutting edge it is. Nano technology is growing rapidly and will drastically change our future! Our future is started with our students and as teachers, it is our responsibility to make them aware of future developments and opportunities for careers.

Last week was so amazing I’m not sure I can narrow it down to only one highlight!! It was my first time white water rafting, so that was certainly a highlight!! Meeting new people who share a passion for teaching and are in it for the right reasons, like myself, was also a highlight! The week was so encouraging and motivating, I couldn’t wait to explore in more detail, everything new that I learned. All the new and great technology will definitely change my classroom and how I teach! One of my favorite sessions was EIEI OH! with Dacia Jones, she was so alive and excited and made me alive and excited! I wasn’t aware of all the grants that are available to teachers and will certainly explore that more!! I had just an awesome week I didn’t want it to end! Thank you Kenan and NCCAT!!!

As a Kenan Fellow, I hope to gain lasting professional and personal friendships as well as knowledge on STEM education that I can bring back to my school. I am excited to see what opportunities this fellowship can bring to me in the future and see how this opportunity shapes and furthers my professional career.
