Externship connection to Math I curriculum

One of the most important features I have learned from this externship is to start thinking more like n engineer. Failure is an option, but quitting is not. I think it is important for students to begin to practice this mantra, as many students do not do well with not being correct.

As far as curriculum, I think getting students to understand measurement concepts is the most important/responsible thing for me to teach. Students often struggle with their “own” measurement system. It is vital to teach students to move between standard and metric measurement systems. It is also important for students to decide which unit would be most appropriate to use when measuring different options.
