I took these pictures last week but had to get permission from someone in Cambridge, MA before I could actually post them. I can’t image what our schools would be like if we had the same kind of security that Biogen has. When you enter the lab, you have to put on a lab coat, safety goggles, & gloves. I remember how bad I hated to wear the goggles in my high school chemistry class. I still don’t like wearing them but safety first. Especially on lab cleaning day when there are a lot more people in a small space and there are wet, glass bottles close to the edge of the sink. I didn’t knock one over but I came really close.

I'm cleaning the bottles that hold the media mixtures for the cells that the scientists at Biogen are growing.

My mentor took this picture using the Lenovo tablet. That's him in the top left hand corner! I'm standing there hoping I don't drop the glass bottle.

Wear your safety goggles! You never know what could happen especially if you are a bit clumsy!

Gloves are very important.

This is a safety shower for people who accidentally get something on them. It's always good to know where one of these are just in case. I'm just saying. Safety first right!

Selfies are hard to take when you are holding glassware!
