The process for developing my curriculum was a great learning opportunity for me because it helped me dig into the standard and have a better understanding of how to teach it to students. This unit helped me develop a way to show students why writing specific procedures is important because I was able to connect it to the real world. Since I could tie in the work that scientists do at Biogen, Idec, the students were able to see that what they learn in school is relevant to real world. I would like these lessons to be used for more than just teaching about physical and chemical changes. The format of the lesson is designed so that students will have to write procedures. I hope that teachers will use the lessons to help teach the students how to write specific procedures.
