Mddle School Science Teacher, Zebulon Gifted & Talented Magnet Middle

My name is Esta Lampkin. I am employed at Zebulon Gifted and Talented Magnet Middle School and have taught Seventh and 8th Grade Science (1 year) since March 2010. Additional responsibilities include Teacher Leader Corps, Mentor, Girls in Science Host Teacher, STEM Girls Host Teacher and the Magnet Enrichment Club called Habits of Health. Prior to moving to North Carolina, I taught high school for a total of 17 years in Germany, Alabama and South Carolina and college in Germany.    I received my undergraduate degree in Biology from Tuskegee University 1987 and my Masters of Education degree from Auburn University at Montgomery 1991.  I am also 2009 National Board Certified. I have participated in the Auburn University Science in Motion Program, Auburn, Alabama while teaching chemistry and physical science at Booker T. Washington High School in Tuskegee, Alabama. Many high school – university partnerships were formed with the staff at Tuskegee University and Auburn University during the organization of science fairs, summer internships for teachers and students, and science grants.  I served as a Tech Mentor while teaching at Spring Valley High School in Columbia S.C. My teaching career has reflected my love of science, high expectations for students, collaboration with fellow educators and parents, and sharing my resources with anyone which could benefit from my acquired knowledge.
