The internship experience this summer not only benefits myself, but also the organization the internship is occurring within. The ASSIST Center is developing the One Health Challenge. This challenge is for students in middle and high school to design and build a warble device focused on the One Health Initiative. The lesson plans we develop during this time will be uploaded to their website for teachers at other schools to use while teaching about the One Health Initiative and participating in the One Health Challenge. These lessons revolve around programming, how sensors work, and collecting data.
In addition to producing lessons for them to share and demo to other schools, we are helping them collect data on tools that exist and can be used to teach students about wearable devices and energy harvesting. The teachers provide feedback on how usable the tools (Arduino LilyPad ,TI Sensor Tag, SimpleBits Circuits, Sticky Circuits, Electric Paint,
