Just getting started

“Blogging?” Yes, I actually asked about blogging during my Kenan Fellows interview. Of all the tasks listed on the fellows timeline, blogging was the one that lingered in my thoughts. Perhaps it was because blogging is a new experience for me. Perhaps it was a fear of not knowing what to say. Oh, don’t get me wrong. I have plenty to say! I just want to be sure that what I say has value to my readers. (Yes, I’m thinking of you!) In regards to that concern, I will make two promises:

#1: Every blog will have some sort of graphic. The teacher in me feels a need to use various instructional strategies in my blog, so visual learners this is for you!

#2 Every blog will have a concise takeaway. Although I’m looking forward to hashing out my experience in this format, I want to my reader’s to gain something in exchange for their time spent reading the posts.

A picture of me, so you can match a name with a face (complete with safety glasses).

Today’s take away:  Follow through with what you say you will do. If you promise to write a take away, then do it. You will earn the respect of others both professionally and personally.
