Overall I feel very privileged to have had the opportunity to be a Kenan Fellow. It has awarded me many insights into teaching that I don’t think I would have had without participating in the program. It was great working with other individuals who were interested in personal growth their profession. My original hopes for the program were overall fulfilled. I definitely was able to bring back project based learning and methods of tying academia and industry. Compared to last school year, this year has been much tougher, all due to our school going through numerous changes. However, the ideas, resources, and confidence that this fellowship provided me allowed for me to still see where the kids benefit and see true learning regardless of school environment and changes, which is the most rewarding part of it all. I would, and have, recommended the Kenan Fellowship to other individuals. I do think it definitely provides an opportunity that no other professional development or teaching programs provide.
