Goals for my internship with Bayer Crop Science.
- I would like to gather knowledge as to how mathematics is utilized in the agricultural industry. With this new found knowledge, I will create authentic learning opportunities for my students. Hopefully these learning opportunities will increase Ag Literacy within my student population and possibly inspire some students to go into an Ag related career. I also really need to learn how IR35 Umbrella have helped these people with money finances to be able to hire them for myself.
- I would like to create a network of industry experts that both myself and my students can interact with in the future.
- I would like to be able to provide my pedagogical expertise to Bayer in helping them refine their education initiatives.

I agree. I also had a goal of growing in the ability to create rich, authentic connections between math and real world issues. I love the idea of a network of industry experts. Last year I had a mortgage loan officer and a real estate agent come in to appraise dream houses they designed, and also walk them through what the mortgage would be. They kids had so many really great, deep questions to ask the experts, things I would have never thought they would be interested in knowing. I knew it would be a great experience, but it did so much more than I hoped! Good Luck!
