Hello everyone and welcome to my blog!

As a part of this Kenan Fellows program, I am hoping network and experiences that I can carry back to my classroom. In doing this program, and as a beginning teacher who has completed only his FIRST year of teaching, I’ve been in programs similar to Kenan Fellows…and one of the main things I’ve been able to take back are the experiences that I would have never been able to have the opportunity to partake in beforehand while making a number of networks that have helped me along my career.

After being a part of the Teaching Fellows program, I expect this program to give me insight into the USDA as well as provide me with resources that I can use in my classroom, including hands-on experiences for my students, that I can use for as long as I stay here in Duplin County (and perhaps even elsewhere). I also hope to gain knowledge from fellow Kenan Fellows, especially my cohorts here in Duplin County that can help me with teaching practices that require years of experience.
