New Possibilities!

It’s been a month since I completed my internship at Hyster-Yale and it’s been a week since we’ve started school!  I can honestly say that after only a week of school I can already tell that my outlook as an educator has been changed.  I learned so much this summer about teaching the “whole student.”  As an educator it is my responsibility to meet the child’s need in and outside of the classroom.

I think the main thing that has changed for me is that now I try and connect every standard to a real world application.  I understand that my students won’t care about the math if they cannot apply it to something outside of the classroom.  Making the content relevant is the key to keeping students engaged and excited!

As I continue to make revisions on my final KFP, I’m trying to come up with exciting ideas to keep my students engaged.  I can’t wait to implement it sometime in January!
