When applying for the Kenan Fellowship for Durham CTE, I knew that it would elevate my experience as a teacher on so many different levels. I am not going to hold expectations…instead, I am going to have hopes.
I hope that I can open up numerous doors of opportunities to my students through collaboration with the other amazing Fellows, not only in my cohort, but through the Kenan Pool as a whole.
I hope that my experience with Biogen allows me to learn more about the Biotech industry that is in our backyard, and I can bring that knowledge back into my curriculum and classroom.
I hope that I learn something new every day.
I hope that I can find it in myself to let my insecurities go, and better myself for the betterment of my students.
I hope that I can build a vital group of resources to, not only bring back to my classroom, but to bring back to my school community as a whole!
I hope I can encourage my students to continue to better themselves through life by showing them that you are never too old to continue to educate yourself.
I hope I become an inspiration.
