Reflection of a Fellow – October Thoughts

Summer is over, school is in full motion.  I am breathing….

Over the summer, I have experienced many life changing events, the death of a loved one, the birth of a new grandchild, a wedding, and two extremely profound professional developments.  Being pulled into so many directions, with so little time to reflect.   The most profound moment for me, I believe was the gift of time to refocus and reflect… it was time to redefine who I am as an educator.  Sure we all have an idea of who we are and what our goals are, but have we really taken the time  to dive deep into our soul’s purpose?  I have.  I believe I have branded myself as a Reflective, Nurturing Life Skills Educator. This has helped me through my difficult times at the opening of this school year.   I am looking at what I do through a different lens. Seeing my passion with clear eyes and witnessing the manifestation of my Reflective and nurturing teaching style in my students.

I  understand the assignment, my heart says, no matter the circumstances, with all that I do, I am teaching possibilities and creating opportunities.
