Data is live from remote sensing data stations. Also has information on dinoflagelates (including Pfeisteria) and cyanobacteria; Check out the “Legacy Project” on the development of a biological monitoring system for drinking water for protection from terrorist activity. The Legacy video is good to show in classroom. This site also has a good visual demonstration of how a nutrient load can cause an algal bloom which causes a fish kill.
