How do I envision my summer effecting my class…

Wow, what a big question! Lucky for me I have an even bigger answer!! My summer has been jam packed with all sorts of amazing experiences. As I am preparing to return to school soon, I have been creating all sorts of new activities for my kids. These activities are completely based on my the many places I have been, and the people I have had the pleasure to meet this summer. I have been truly blessed with the awesome opportunity to spend my summer with the wonderful folks at Ply Gem. I have a new found respect for the lean manufacturing world, and if I didn’t truly love teaching I would gladly love to work at Ply.  My classroom will never be the same, because I will never be the same. I feel as if I have been introduced to a whole new world. I now have a new understanding of various industries, the one that I worked in as well as the ones that I have learned about from fellow kenans.

I have all these new ideas, which are great, but I have and even more important resource… people. I have meet and began to collaborate with the most wonderful, knowledgeable professional in our little part of the big ole world out there. I envision my class being a vibrant learning environment where students will have every opportunity imaginable to succeed. I will passionately share the knowledge and experience that I have  gained with everyone in my path… and I talk a lot. I see my class being a place where students will actually see the “stuff that we teach” as being useful, beyond the EOG.
