My name is Courtney and I am a North Carolina Native. I grew up in Durham, NC and am currently teaching 6th grade for Durham Public Schools. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Math and Science from UNC Chapel HIll and my Master’s Degree in Montessori Education from Xavier University. I have just completed my 3rd year teaching at Lakewood Montessori Middle School. We are a small Magnet School with a focus on Montessori Education. Montessori philosophy is all about treating children as whole people instead of just learners and helping children feel connected to this great big world that we share.
