Assisting the ASSIST Center

This week’s prompt asks the Kenan Fellows how we see our internship benefiting our mentor’s organization.  And, because I need to do a lot of work on this exact topic prior to next Friday’s poster session, I have to say this week’s post will be considerably shorter than past posts.

As a member of Team Nano, I feel it is pretty clear how our participation in the internship will help the ASSIST Center.  As part of their grant, the ASSIST Center requires us to create three separate lesson plans related to group projects we design from our understanding of the knowledge gained during our internship.  What this means for each group is to integrate the One Health Initiative with the use of nanotechnology in wearable devices.  While the demo product is group oriented, the lesson plans are individual and should relate to our unique curriculum.  These lessons will then be made available for teachers statewide to help promote the One Health Initiative and use of nanotechnology in their classrooms.  Of course, this also helps me move forward in accomplishing my Kenan Product as well.  So it is a mutually beneficial task.

Now…on to lesson planning for the evening!
