What a Great Start to the Program

What a great start to my Kenan experience!  I am enjoying taking in all the information our group is receiving from Jess Jur and his fellow staff members at NC State’s Assist center as well as interacting and sharing with the other educators who are involved in the wearable devices group!  I have already learned a lot about sensor devices, gotten a little practice in coding the Arduino Lilypad, and had some ideas sparked as to how I can introduce my students and fellow educators at my school to both the devices we explore and knowledge I am gaining during my internship.  I thoroughly enjoyed touring the NC State Analytical Instrumentation Facility and the Nano Fabrication Facility, as well Porticos and Device Solutions.  I truly appreciate each of these groups allowing us into their facilities, giving us a glimpse into how new technologies are created and various materials/products get tested.  So far, this has been a great experience and I am certain it will continue to get even better!

Here are a couple of images I snapped during the tours we took this week:

Bob, so glad it seems to be going well. I was excited to see some of the ideation and work on kits last week. I’m jealous! It looks fun and interesting. Looking forward to continuing to drop by.

Thanks for the comment. The internship is a complete blast and I am loving every minute of it! I just wish we had more time taking part in it…we are cover a TON of information in a short time. As I keep saying: stressful, yes…but it is a GOOD stress! I am so happy I applied to participate in the Kenan Fellows Program!
