Tyreisha (Ty) Jeffery

I teach in Durham, NC for the Durham Public School system.

I have been teaching high school CTE Business/ Marketing courses for the last 6 years.

I wanted to become a Kenan Fellow to gain experience working with wearable devices. I am passionate about Textile &Apparel and I want to stay abreast of some the latest trends in the fashion industry. I also want to keep my CTE business courses exciting and relevant by introducing new skills like 3-D printing, coding, and screen-printing electrical circuits  to my students.

My goal for my internship is to learn the concepts of making wearable devices and extend my knowledge and skill to my students and colleagues, hopefully inspiring some of my students, particularly my female students to peruse careers in coding,engineering, and Textiles.
