Day 1 Siemens Internship
Today reminded me of the first day of school. I felt anxious and unsure about what this experience would entail. How would I fit in? How would I be received? What product could I create to capture the essence of Siemens?
My first impression of Siemens is that they are friendly, yet, all about the business:
1.ID Badge: This is a secure area. Only those with access are allowed onsite.
2. Goggles & Safety shoes: Safety is priority
I am happy to say that Tiffany and I received a warm welcome from Dawn, and all the other employees at Siemens. After spending a day there, I feel an obligation and responsibility to market vocational careers, like those offered at Siemens, to CMS families. Why? Technical careers meet the needs of diverse learners and multiple intelligences (kinesthetic and spatial intelligence). Students need to know that there are multiple pathways into STEM related careers, and not all them require a 4-year degree.
