Within my Durham cohort we are excited to work together to develop and implement a career fair within the life sciences careers.  But instead of focusing on students meeting companies that cannot hire them because they are not 18 yet we are going to inform the teachers.  We feel that as a cohort reaching out to the teachers to provide contacts and information about companies and careers then more students within dps can be reached.  Some of the challenges we are experiencing is finding a location that is conducive to our purpose.  We have successfully chosen the following companies to include in our career fair: Merck, Pfizer, Seqirus, KBI Biopharma, Advance Animal Diagnostics, Locus Biosciences.  We of course will be looking into other companies to include.  Our next steps will be presenting to our district and getting their opinions and approval.
