Author Guidelines

Submissions to the Journal of Interdisciplinary Teacher Leadership (JOITL) are open to educators, administrators, graduate students, and researchers both formal and informal of all disciplines. JOITL uses an online manuscript submission and review system. Manuscripts that have been previously published or are in consideration for publication by another journal will not be accepted. All submissions must be in English.

Articles, research papers, essays and literary reviews submitted to JOITL should be original. We do not publish articles that have been previously published in either print or digital format. We also do not publish articles that are: opinions; university writing assignments; unsupported lesson plans; or that promote a commercial product.

We do publish articles that relate to teacher leadership, advocacy, professional development, research/industry experiences, and interdisciplinary research and/or practices in K-12 education. While it is not required, preference will be given to articles that focus on STEM education.

Manuscripts should be written in compliance with the style and reference guidelines presented in the 6th edition APA Publication Manual.

Upon acceptance, you may be asked to clarify, rewrite and provide additional information as the editorial team reviews the manuscript. You may also be asked to update materials; complete your biography; and provide additional supporting documents as requested.

Even if your manuscript was accepted for a particular issue, the editor may choose to save your article for a future issue depending on space.

Registration is temporarily suspended on the site as we build a new online home for our journal. Please email submissions directly to Amneris Solano, managing editor, at asolano@ncsu.edu.
