The Chicken Chronicles Volume 1: Issue 5 “To Be Or Not To Be Where Will the Core Leave Technology In Education?”

How will the core impact the use of technology in our classroom?  That is truly a good question.  I truly think now every vendor in the world is jumping on the core band wagon so to speak.  Sadly enough, if it is labeled aligned with the core or essential standards, administrators are just purchasing it with our truly taking the time to review the material.

Many of these said resource do nothing but give you a host of URL’s which a teacher could really do a Google search for themselves.  When I think of the core and how some view it, some are not going to take the time to find tools to enhance their students learning.  They are going to simply stick with what they know and cross their fingers and hope that it works.  To many tapping on to the high order thinking skills is hard enough to do without the added stress of technology integration.

 

To them I say,  lead follow or get out of the way.  We must inspire and expect or student to create, Create, CREATE!
