Having completed all three Professional Advancement Institutes, what does this experience mean to you? * Of the three institutes which one did you find the most valuable and why? * How do the three institutes compare to other PD that you have had in the past?
In reference to the prompt, I enjoyed the last institute the best. I have not sent much time around or engaged in politics and this opened my eyes. I enjoyed the panel discussions and I left with a better insight into the politics surrounding education in my state.
I did not leave the day feeling better about the state of education policy in NC but I did leave with an understanding of the huge amount of work that needs to be done in this area.
All of the Kenan PD was worthwhile and I truly enjoyed my time at NCCAT. I hope that this retreat for teachers can continue to operate and allow educators in NC the chance to meet and grow as educators.
