Two weeks ago, my students began research for their wearable devices projects.  I explained how it worked and charged each team with gathering quality information for their research projects.  This week the students actually got to explore the Arduino.  As soon as the students got the devices in their hands, they began to make connections.  They were coming up with excellent ideas but best of all with quality research!  This moment made me think about how to simulate this level of engagement at the beginning of the lesson.  The next time I teach this lesson,  I will allow students to explore the device, with coding, before they begin their research.
