Now What?……..iNviTECH

Yay! I have completed my final product for my Kenan Fellowship and I am ecstatic!  After completing my product, I began to reflect on my educational journey and personal goals of my past and those of the future.

About four years ago, I started a company called United Technology Center.  I provided technology training to various clubs and after school programs around the Piedmont Triad area. The program was dissolved after the arrival of my son and moving to a new city.  I absolutely loved working in the community and teaching new technology skills!

After completing my Kenan Fellowship, I was inspired to pursue my dreams of  this STEM focused camp for the community.  I put together a website, gathered materials and with my wearable devices curriculum; I began looking for a space to host my summer camp.  I went to a co-working community-based center called iNvicTUS to secure space for the camp.  After hearing my dream for the camp, they wanted to partner with me! I felt like I was on Shark Tank! I am pleased to announce that iNviTECH will host its first wearable devices summer camp in July 2016. I have always wanted to develop a STEM based community outreach program and this dream is finally coming to fruition.

The wearable devices curriculum will be the first of many cool projects that will be offered to students who attend iNviTECH.  There will be courses offered during the school year as well.  The curriculum that I have created will be used to inspire, educate and engage many students as possible in the RTP area.  I am excited about the future of iNviTECH!
