North Carolina Resiliency Fellowship

ONE FELLOWSHIP AVAILABLE

The Kenan Fellows Program is partnering with the NC Office of Recovery and Resiliency, the Duke University Marine Lab, and The Science House to immerse a Western NC educator with these partners and build a collection of response resources to prepare educators as schools reopen following a disaster.

The NC State Science House Mountain Satellite Office (MSO) is at the Mountain Horticultural Crops Research and Extension Center in Mills River, NC. The MSO serves teachers, students, school systems, and community stakeholders of WNC and promotes STEM education through teacher professional development, curriculum development, student engagement programs, and an equipment loan program. The MSO has supported western area schools after Hurricane Helene through their Adopt a School Program and PBL-based Resiliency projects among other initiatives. The office will serve as the local host for the majority of the three-week internship, which will also include a visit to the Office of Recovery and Resiliency and the Duke Marine Lab.
