Using Stem to Make it Grow
Ms. Spivey will collaborate with a team of researchers Becky Westbrooks, Jason Bullock and Teresa Lenger at Southeastern Community College to develop classroom curriculum supporting students’ knowledge and understanding of agricultural biotechnology research and the corresponding real-world applications.
Working in partnership with the mentors, she will explore the current and potential applications of micropropagation as well as the various economic and environmental implications.
Culminating your exploration of the research, she will translate your newly acquired knowledge into an engaging curriculum aligned with the Common Core or Essential Standards for use across North Carolina.
