As a Kenan Lenovo Fellow, you will collaborate with Sam Morris, the Company’s global education sector leader. As part of this fellowship, you may attend educational forums and meetings, research innovative approaches to education, and publish results on Lenovo’s educational blog and in education journals. The project provides an opportunity to share a broad perspective on education with peer teachers and to develop materials to assist teachers in balancing the demands of mandated curriculum and innovative practices.
Lenovo, the world’s largest PC vendor, has a strong commitment to education globally. The company strives to assist schools by developing relevant resources, including hardware and curricular materials, for teachers and students at all levels and is committed to supporting projects that advance education in schools around the world. Lenovo partners with organizations locally and globally, including the North Carolina Science, Math and Technology Center (SMT) and the World Economic Forum’s Partnerships for Education, to provide input on solutions for teachers and to stay abreast of current trends in education.
The Fellow will also bring a teacher’s perspective to Lenovo’s work by presenting to staff at Lenovo on topics to include:
• The role of technology in education
• The challenges, technological and pedagogical, in implementing technology
• The impact of high-stakes testing on curriculum
• Education reform and the roles of educators, administrators and politicians
