Kelly Witter, an Environmental Engineer, has worked in EPA’s Office of Research and Development in Research Triangle Park, NC since 1987. As the Director of EPA-RTP’s Community Engagement and STEM Education Program, she collaborates with schools and the community to develop and implement educational outreach programs, particularly in minority and low-income K-12 schools. During her career at EPA, Witter has also conducted research on indoor air quality in schools and on human exposure to pollutants. Previously, she worked as a Field Engineer for Inter-Mountain Engineering in Avon, CO. She holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, a Masters of Science from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Duke University in Clay Liners for Hazardous Waste Landfills, and a Bachelors of Science in Geology and Math from Duke University. She is an NC Certified Environmental Educator.
