STEMwork

Master Project-Based Learning and build industry partnerships all in one program.

Get started

STEMwork supports teachers in establishing and sustaining education/industry partnerships with local STEM employers, while helping them master the pedagogy of Project-Based Learning (PBL).

Why PBL Works

Studies show PBL produces better learning outcomes for students

Choose between multiple workshops to suit your professional development needs: STEMwork offers immersive in-person experiences, or opt for the convenience of online-only sessions with STEMwork Sprint.

The STEMwork Advantage

Breakdown Classroom Barriers

Build connections between education and industry, introducing students to promising career pathways and energizing local economies with homegrown talent.

Infuse Lessons with Career Relevance

Guided by a facilitator trained by the Kenan Fellows Program for Teacher Leadership, you will learn to engage students in exploring local STEM careers and build essential skills like problem-solving and collaboration.

Convenient and Impactful Professional Development

Progress through eight interactive asynchronous sessions that will lead you through the intricacies of Project-Based Learning design and culminate with the design of your own full PBL unit. You have the potential to earn 8 CEUs for full program completion, recommended by the N.C. Department of Public Instruction.

Supportive Professional Learning Community

Coaching guides you in creating engaging and authentic learning experiences for your students. You will learn grouping, assessment, and management of your PBL project.
